Little Black Book

I've been watching quite a bit of movies lately and I happened upon this one during my prepping for my late night show and watched it twice on Tuesday.

Here is the supposed plot summary for Little Black Book straight from imdb.com, it was with Brittany Murphy as Stacy and Ron Livingston of Sex & The City fame as Derek:

Stacy Holt, an associate producer for a daytime talk show, is confounded by her boyfriend Derek's unwillingness to talk about his previous relationships. Egged on by her co-worker Barb, Stacy sneaks a look at his personal digital organizer, scores the names and numbers of his exes, and sets up interviews with them--all in an effort to get closer to her man. Her plan starts to unravel, however, when she becomes friends with one of the women.

Now..what made me watch this twice was not only the fact that it was on 2 different HBOs at the same time but because it just peaked my interest at it's ending.

Here was a confident, sexy woman, who was completely enamoured of her man. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for him...even fight to keep him. And what happens at the end? She completely humiliates herself live on air expressing her love for him and realizes...that he never did love her...he was still in love with his previous girlfriend. To watch her face as she walked out of that building, though it was only a movie, was utterly heartbreaking...because we've all gone through something of that sort in our lives...no matter if you say you haven't...we ALL have...or at some point in your lives will go through something of that nature.

I spoke of this on my show last night and it got everyone talking in the irc channel...lol...I'm good at that..getting conversations started.

One person brought up a good point...and not completely referrencing the movie itself but the fact that we as people are basically taught to believe via experience or mass media that there is a 'one and only' out there in the world for us...but is that true? Is there only 'one'? The 'one'? He stated that you could find a 'one' in some far away place or next door to you, wherever you may move and live in. What if that's true? Makes you think...doesn't it.

Enough said about that....keep on staying tuned to AKA Radio ...the only place to be.
